Massive 317

Indianapolis Supporters of the Columbus Crew

Welcome Crew Fans!

Massive 317 is the Indianapolis based supporters group for Columbus Crew fans. If you live in central Indiana or neighboring areas, and you love the Crew, Massive 317 is your connection to fellow fans and activities.

We are the local chapter of the Crew Union supporters group. A number of us get tickets in section 101 of the Nordecke when attending games, but Massive 317 members sit in numerous areas of the stadium. No matter you're preferences for how you show your support, we'd like to welcome you to the Massive 317.

Saprissa cunning

I went to the game and enjoyed the Crew dominating most of the match, even though I was not sure about the ref's award of the PK. All through the match I thought the refs were bad on both sides, but that the Crew created several more good chances than Saprissa. Really bummed out when that last minute goal took away the victory.

I reviewed both plays on the CONCACAF web site highlights, and could see the obvious studs up slam into Barros's leg that was all leg and no ball--should have… Continue

Azul kept its cool

Great match at Crew Stadium last night--I highly recommend the CONCACAF Champions League matches. The highlight reel on the CONCACAF web site shows it well--lots of Crew chances but no actual scores. The first Azul score was an explotation of a miscue by our young defender Brunner, and the second a fluke breakaway caused by the referee failing to get out of the way of a Crew pass. Otherwise, the Crew generated several more good opportunities than Azul but failed to convert any. The crowd was… Continue

Indy Pro Soccer Petition

Those of you who were at the Tap for the season opener against Houston may have remembered a dark-haired gentleman talking to Massive 317 before the Crew game started. You may not remember that he was involved in the effort to bring a United Soccer Leagues 2 (USL2) team to Indianapolis. I've kept in touch with him over the past months as we've discussed the state of the bid he is putting together. While there have been some setbacks in negotiations, the deadline for submitting a bid is October… Continue

Indy still in WC host mode

I was mildly aroused this morning to see that Indianapolis is still being considered as a host site for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup. I would say that the chances are slim that Indianapolis see's the bid come to fruition however, Indianapolis does meet a number of necessary criteria. The 2011 Super Bowl has already spurned new hotels and additions to existing structures. The World Cup is during the summer months so, unlike the Super Bowl, people will be able to freely walk about the city and not… Continue

Crew returns to action in Champions League play Wednesday night (08/26/2009 - 10pm Eastern).

Game will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel (FSC) with kickoff at 10pm Eastern.

After a dominating 2-0 win over Puerto Rico in the opening game of the Champions League group stage at Crew Stadium, Columbus returns to action tomorrow night at Mexican power house and group favorite, Cruz Azul. A win for Columbus would be the first for an MLS side across our southern border and would put the Crew in the driver's seat in Group C.

Question for discussion:

Would you… Continue
